Hungarian Pumi Dogs
Temperament
Hungarian Pumis have a loving and protectice temperament. Bred to watch over a flock, these instincts are quite easily transferred to a family. This does make the Pumi a good watchdog but means they are reserved with strangers and unreliable with other dogs.
Training is really important with this breed as you need to assert yourself as dominant and the leader. If not the Pumi may become more stubborn and disobedient.
Health Problems
Health problems that may affect Hungarian Pumis include canine hip dysplasia (CHD) and luxating patella (dislocation of the kneecap).
