Yes, it holds a lot of water, but my hens don't appear to have the nack of drinking from the teets. Can any other owner tell me how high to position it? Should the hens be able to easily fit underneath or should they have to stretch their necks to reach it?

These are the best - we tried to cope with the wooden bars, but I just couldn't get them clean enough - or dry enough in our lovely climate - to feel happy to put them back in the eglu (have you tried using a blow dryer on wooden roosting bars?). The plastic ones are excellent!

These are so much easier to clean than the wooden roosting bars, and I'm more confident that these won't harbour any nasties in the Eglu. I love the fact that you can dry these bars properly, unlike the wooden ones which had to be left out for a long time after scrubbing. I was unsure at first if the girls would be OK on them but they seem to actively prefer roosting on these to the old ones. I will be buying a spare set soon.

We got a second-hand Eglu, and having read all the reviews for these bars, we wanted to change the wooden ones. We found out from customer services that the Mark 2 Eglu has roosting bars in 2 parts, so realised we had this model and bought the plastic bars before we got our chickens. They are fab, so easy to clean, and no drying time to worry about. I agree with all the ppoor people with wooden bars in Mark 1 Eglus, and think you should make plastic replacement bars for them also. It seems sill to have an all plastic house with wooden bars to attract red mite?

I love these new roosting bars. They are so easy to clean Mr Muscle would be proud and no fear they will fall apart like the last lot of wooden roosting bars.

Lightweight, very easy to clean and dry, saves loads of scrubbing. An absolute must for anyone with a cube.

These are a zillion times better than the wooden ones - so much easier to clean and dry! I have no idea if the girls like them, but I certainly do!

Well worth the money - just upgraded from a Glug to Super Glug as the chickens kept walking into the Glug! - now it is clean and I wont waste cider vinegar etc. Chickens took a while to find the nipples for the water but no they have got the hang of it. Hangs above door of Eglu.

My chickens are ever so happy with it and i couldnt be with out it. The water stays cleaner for longer and the amount of water it can hold is great for thirsy chickens on a hot day. A brilliant part of your chickens wellbeing!

this is a great idea, but i can't get my hens to use it. I would prefer them to drink from it and i know that lots of people have them and are happy, I just wish my daft birds would realise that it was there.
