Best investment ever
Cyndi,
I bought my first door about a year ago. I love ,love ,love it!! No issues what so ever. The batteries I originally put in are still at 70%! So easy to install, I watched the website video they give a link to. You can change the setting super easy. I prefer the time mode to compensate for cloudy/rainy days. I'm getting ready to purchase a second door for my boys in their bachelor pad. We'll worth the money if you have it.

Makes Life Easy
Brandy, Utah,
I purchased this chicken door because it was recommended by multiple people. I did have to adjust my frame door size to meet the expectations recommended in the instructions. I prefer clearer instructions. However, once I figured how it was explained, I was able to put it together, by myself. I ordered the door with the light. But, the wiring for the light had separated from the connector. I originally emailed Omlet about my situation. They didn't contact me back in a timely matter. So, I contacted via phone. The customer service rep was pleasant and helped me with my needs. She sent me a new light. I haven't received it yet. But, I am hopefully it won't have the same issue. The chickens had no issues with getting used to the door opening and closing on its own.

Not a necessary purchase
Chelsie, Nebraska,
I purchased the coop light for use with my automatic door. I’ll be honest, it’s pretty worthless for my chickens. I think it confuses them! My chickens are in bed prior to dusk and when the coop light turns on they start clucking and stick their heads back outside. That’s the awesome thing about chickens is that they have their own little internal light sensors! I gave it 4 stars as the light works perfectly! I just find it an unnecessary for chickens.

Worth it!
Chelsie, Nebraska,
Purchased this for use with my large Eglu Omlet. The door is 100% worth the cost! I love the knowledge that my chickens are out first thing in the morning and that it’ll close each evening without any intervention. We are a very busy family and so it is a relief that it’s so reliable! I tried the light sensor but I felt like it kept them in the coop for too long in the mornings. Very satisfied with the night light sensor timing. I’ve decided to just use the timer. It’s very easy to change the open/close time and I just change it each month based on the timing of dawn/dusk. I’ve had the coop for 4 months and am still at 90% battery. I did purchase the coop light but I wish I hadn’t as it seems to just confuse them at bedtime to have a light on. Overall, highly recommend purchase of the automatic door!

Works great
Christine,
Pretty easy to set up using instructions provided. Seems to work as promised so far! It’s nice to not have to run out first thing to let the girls out.

Works perfectly
Shae,
Exactly what I needed. Safety feature is great, tested it on my hand a few times. Love the light sensor setting and the additional coop light I added to the order. Great peace of mind knowing my girls are all safely tucked into bed each night. Install was quick and easy. Works flawlessly

OK but pilot holes drilled too large.
Darren,
As other reviewer stated, the pre-drilled pilot holes are too large for the provided screws. I had to toss the screws and go find some longer/bigger ones to make it work. Not a big deal, but it delayed my install and seems like a repeated problem that Omlet may want to address!

Guilt is gone!
Peta,
So I wake up early but not chicken early. I would always feel guilty about them having to wait to be let out when they were itching to go at dawn. They are in a large, fully enclosed run and I could leave the doors to their coop open but I would prefer to add that extra layer of protection - just in case. So in comes the auto door! Changed EVERYTHING! The chickens are out in the run at first light and I can make them some breakfast and go hang out in the coop when it's a little lighter. I can even sleep in some Sundays without waking with that panicked feeling that my poor girls have been trapped in their coop since daybreak.

Great except the programming
Dave,
I bought this door for the automatic opening with the daylight. Problem is that they set it so that it is a 20 minute delay before opening. I have it set at open at 1 (lowest it can go) and my chickens are waiting to get out for over 10 minutes. They have it locked down so that we can't change it. Why not make it 5 minute and then I can set to open at 15 or 20 on the light sensor and get it to open when I want. As it is I can't continue to use this feature and will have to go to programming a time in it every few weeks. That is until I find a better solution OR THEY FIX THE PROGRAM. PLEASE get an update out to us that lets US choose the time delay.
