Great design
Suzanne,
Very pleased with the purchase. Beautifully detailed design which works on all counts. Chickens very happy. One large hen still clucks a lot when jumping off the bottom step in the morning - but she has learned to get on and off the ladder. Well worth the expence.

A dream to clean!
Rebecca, London,
To sum up an Eglu in one word EASY! Easy to put together. Easy to manoeuvre. Easy to clean. It looks good and is spacious. On the down side PLEASE, PLEASE redesign the stairs. We have attached a wooden set as our 8 week old chicks couldn't use them. The gaps are too wide and the distance to the ground too great.

I love it! Hens love it!
Jenny,
Bought the cube plus 2m extra run as I wanted a very mobile coop and run to let my girls graze a lawn down each summer by moving every couple of days. Cube is perfect for this and it's working brilliantly. Does need 2 people to move it with 3 metres of run attached, particularly if the grass is long or the ground uneven, but still takes only minutes. The design is funky, practical and functional so easy for cleaning out and egg collection. The grub and glug containers are genius! The Grub keeps food dry and there's a lot less waste than with standard feeders. I can confirm the run is fox resistant! :) Witnessed nightly fox parties around cube and regularly find a "calling card" from the fox right next to the run in the morning, but so far no attempt to get in. As a precaution I do always close the pop hole and remove all food from the run each night, but still v.impressed that the cube and run keep my girls as safe as possible each night. One improvement I would make which other reviewers have already suggested is that I would like the hole in the nesting box to have a plug or something to stop bedding falling down the hole. I've been keeping chickens for 2 years now and I swear by hemp chips for nest boxes and trays as it absorbs smells and draws fluid down to the bottom keeping the coop dry, odour-free and (so far) mite-free. Currently my solution is to plug with a piece of damp-proof-coursing material to lay over the hole, but still the girls move it when kicking up the hemp and then the hemp chips fall in the run. The other small gripe is that the ladder was a bit mission impossible for the girls for the first day or two and they took to flying in and out the coop to avoid slipping on the ladder! Comical but a few feathers were lost and minor injuries sustained over the first weeks. We've stuck at it and I found that moving the run cover up next to the coop keeps morning and evening dew off the ladder and the girls are happier about using the ladder now it is a lot less slippy but still seeing rather comedic coop entries and exits. Reckon a re-think of the ladder might be in order. However all in all I'm really happy with the purchase and think it is really good value for money.

brilliant
Shirley,
Having been used to a wooden coop and finding it a bit of a chore to clean out I am absolutely delighted with the ease in which I can now clean them out and in a fraction of the time the raised height also makes it a lot easier to tend the "girls" especially for those of us that bending up and down has become rather challenging. The "girls" seem very happy in their home I can think of nothing negative to say about it at all it is brilliant.

Great!
Emma,
We are new to hen keeping and decided to invest in a cube with 3m run. It is fantastic! Easy to put together (take your time to read and do it following the directions) super simple to clean. The only modification I have made is to add tree rounds under the ladder as steps up so the hens can step up to the ladder instead of jumping. It did take the hens a few days to get use to the ladder as at first they were slipping off it. Happy hens! Thanks Omlet!

Iglu Cube
Ken,
My hens love their cube, and I love the ease with which I can keep it clean for them. Much easier than their old wooden henhouse.

fabulous eglu cube
Lynn,
Hi there. I'm so pleased with my Eglu cube, extra run and covers. I came to your offices to collect it as delivery would have been a bit too late for me. Your chaps were brilliant and got everything into my old ford focus with not an inch to spare! It took me about 4 hours to assemble it on my own. The instructions made sense. The clips were missing but that was soon sorted, a quick phone call and they arrived within a day or so. In the meantime I used cable ties so no problems. Dandelion and Bluebell are very happy in their new home. I have them on the grass with daytime access to a lovely area under some trees with plenty of dirt. I have chicken wire to keep them in that area. I removed the clips from one side of the back panel of the run, between the wheel thingies, so it works like a little hinged door which closes tight with your bungee clips at night. They can run in and out between the spaces. I did this because I didn't want to look at the back of the eglu from my kitchen window. I didn't realise you had taller add on runs for the cube and never thought it would be difficult but I had trouble getting into the run through the small door to clean up. I had to find another way so I now use the bungee clips to open and close the whole front of the run, keeping the clips on one side as a hinge. This works brilliantly. I took out one set of roosting racks and put an big old stick in there so they can choose how they roost. The nesting box and roost area is great. I love all the air vents. One improvement could be a grill rather than large hole in the bottom of the nest box as my aubiose bedding fell out. It now has a piece of jcloth over it under the bedding. It's so easy to clean. The trays under the roost are brilliant. And it's great to have all this at a good height. They were a little perplexed by the ladder but soon got the hang of it. If I had to improve on the eglu, it would be the addition of pop holes for the girls to allow access on any side. And add-on lengths of run for those of us who don't have the taller ones, that would be great. I found that the covers didn't keep the run dry. I felt that covering it all up wouldn't allow air to circulate. I use a green tarpaulin right over the top resting on the washing line and prop, and tied to the shed and trees, like a roof sail. I can get this little contraption up in about 3 mins! This allows plenty of air to circulate but the first time the rain poured off and splashed back into the run. I now use the short covers all the way round at the bottom, kind of sloping outwards to allow the rain to run away. And bingo - a dry run. The green is great, very funky. I painted their names and a picture of dandelions and bluebells on the front, gave them some bunting, a bit of tree stump and it's fabulous. I struggled with all sorts of houses and arrangements before I found the eglu. Thank you very much, it's awesome! With our very best wishes, Lynn, Dandelion and Bluebell xxx

Great Coop and run, easy to clean and a good size!
Janette,
We did lots of research and are pleased with our choice. The coop is large and easily accessible to clean, the run is a great size (with 1 m extension) and easy to reach inside to change food etc. The kids can also sit inside with our 4 bantams when they are free ranging. We have used the omlet edging to go round it which fits perfectly. It was a bit tricky to put together as we got a bit confused on which way the run went on - instructions not great - but using photos helped!

Looks great, practical and very easy to clean
Bridget,
We have four chickens in our Eglu and they are very happy in it. It looks great in the garden and it is extremely practical. It is very easy to empty the dropping trays every few days. Just carried out the first big clean and it is designed so well that the 'poop' cleaned off very easily and the water drains away through the drainage holes. It is easy to take apart and access for cleaning. We have a big fox population here so we also pegged down the skirt of the cage. The cage is easy to move (once you have located the additional pegs in the skirt through the now longer grass) as we have to regularly move the coop as the run gets very muddy due to our heavy clay soil. Still trying to deal with that issue in the best way, but that isn't a reflection on the Eglu itself. The delivery and assembly by Omlet was first rate and I'm glad I didn't have to assemble it myself as it would have taken at least half a day plus the usual bickering that accompanies self assembly items! Just as an aside, I hadn't realised how relaxing watch chickens is. I now spend longer relaxing in the garden then I ever did just watching them and listening to their contented clucks.
