Unfortunately the go up wheels only come with two clips to fix the wheels, it needs four, the instructions are wrongly printed. Phoned and received two in post.

I am pleased with the eglu but there are a few things that could be improved. The house itself is great, I like the fact it is easy to clean and wont rot or harbour mites. Less good is the ladder - my little bantams cant walk down it, so they fly/fall out and crash into the wire of the run. Maybe they will learn but they have been in it about a month now. The other thing is lack of shelter from wind and rain - we have had to add on some windbreaks, as it has been windy and the rain blows straight under the house. If I put the food hopper where i can reach it from the door, the rain gets in it and the food goes mouldy. If I tuck it under the house, I have to crawl into the run to refill it, as there is no hatch to access it. So overall the eglu is 5 stars but the run and ladder 3 stars.

Finally after keeping hens(in wooden coops) for several years I have been swayed to the light side. The EGLU up and go was a breeze to put together and is housing my bantams very nicely it's very easy to clean. What make me finally purchase it well I got a secondhand OMLET that was over 10 years old and was still in such good condition,I felt that this was an investment. This, coupled with the fact that I no longer have to spend summers fighting red mite, says the descisson is a no-brainer

It took much longer than the estimated 2 hours to put together, however end result was good. I had hoped for one of the "fun" colours (pink, red) but only green or purple available in Australia. Have not yet purchased the chooks so can't say how they will like their home!

This Eglu has been fantastic. Love the rain proof feed container, the little rain tight house they have with adequate roosting perches, a comfy egg laying spot,great easy access to get the eggs,the slide out tray has been brilliant for ease of fertilising the garden with chicken manure and it 's so far been fox proof because of the skirt on it.

We've had chickens for about five years now, and the ladies always seemed happy enough in their wooden house. However, once it started to fall apart, the search for a replacement brought me to omlet. I liked the idea of the up being off the ground, and it does make reaching in and getting the eggs easy, and also does look as though it would have a good chance of withstanding a fox attack if the doors were shut at night. Really impressed by the quality of construction - looks pretty snug for the chickens at night - no wind whistling through wooden boards. Not a huge amount of room for 4 chickens though, and the shallow droppings tray means it needs cleaning more frequently than my old house. Why four stars and not five? It's actually slightly harder to clean than my previous house. I put paper over the droppings tray and laying area, which means those are a doddle - remove the paper, give the plastic a wipe down and you're done. The bars are more tricky, and I find the poo often sticks to them, meaning a stiff brush and vigorous rubbing are required before I can wipe down with a cloth and spray. Not a major headache, but not as easy as I'd expected. Overall, high quality chicken house, and as long as it lasts a good ten years or so, will pay back better than a couple of good quality wood alternatives.

One improvement which could be incorporated is a triangular piece of plastic moulding easily attached to the coop floor to contain the shavings/straw within the egg laying area. Also it might contain a superficial bubble which could be used initially to stop the hens sitting on the nest box overnight. Then removed once they have learnt to roost on the roosting area. l have purchased the purple Eglu Go Up and l have been very pleased with it so much so l have just ordered another one. no complaints about it all. Im not so thrilled with the feeder as l have difficulty with putting the lid on then l cant get it off easily for cleaning. also the hens have trouble feeding from it unless it is very full once the level drops they start to have difficulty feeding.

We love our Go Up. I am soooo impressed with the ease of cleaning - I hardly even consider it a chore! We have a very small backyard and this fits in perfectly and the girls have loved it from day one. The one part I'm not so keen on is the feeding container - it's hard to take the lid off and it's depth means it can hold ALOT of pellets but it's a struggle for the girls to get to it once it's below half way.
