The product is good and does,what it should. However it is quite pricey. My bars were broken when they arrived(no protective wrap). When i rang they were replaced without quibble. However i did explain i needed the replacement quickly due to imminent arrival of hens and was told they would be despatched that day. It actually took a few days for them to be posted which meant they arrived after the hens.

Much better than the wood originals but was disappointed they weren't solid. They are basically a marg tub in the shape of bars. They would be great if they were solid and rubbery. The poo sticks well.

Nicer than the wooden ones - easier to clean and won't fall apart and need re-nailing. However, they could be improved even more by making them solid so crap doesn't get on the inside sections. You could use that black recycled plastic they make non-slip plastic decking out of. Had the Eglu for two years now - it's been the best designed product I've seen for a long time, and I'm almost tempted to try your beehive, but I've already invested in a National hive - maybe I'll try it next year when my colony swarms and expands. Well done for the innovative products and excellent web site and "community" you have created - you've brought chicken keeping to the masses and I think the Eglu deserves a place along side the Smart Car in the design books.
